Will the MAXX work on AT&T or T-Mobile?

Correct me if I am wrong with any of it. I love my S4 with 4.4.2

4.4.4 on Moto Maxx.. I never had any other software on a Maxx so I assume it's just the software not phone specific. I hate the software. I hate no tiles in the single finger swipe down ie: I hate the new notification screen with nothing on it.. A complete waste of time to get to any setting. I hate the first settings screens "tiles". No customizability. I hate the second settings page with the lost instead of split 4 section settings. Hate the no SD card internal. Hate the no CDMA for StraightTalk and no 4g for ATT and the 4g for T-Mobile no talk/data bug. Hate the no default flash light widget. Hate the no default task manager. Hate the way WiFi doesn't toggle on and off from tile.. Only bringing to WiFi page to do it.. Same with location.

I guess I could use 2 finger swipe down to get past notifications to the new tile page.. Lame when you use 2 phones. Also Power Toggles is cool but I hate 3rd party apps that run full time. Also it doesn't fix the location toggle and it has 3g to 4g.. Doesn't work.

4.4.2 on S4

Loooove it.

None of that has anything to do with 4.4.4. The phone has been set up that way from the start, and most of those features you mention that are lacking are simply the way stock android was set up. It's a Verizon specific phone that never promised compatibility with ATT or tmobile - the gsm support is intended to allow verizon owners who travel overseas to pop in a local sim and get service. No sd card support has nothing to do with the version of android on the phone.

If you like samsung phones, then keep buying them. You'll miss out on Moto assist driving, meeting, sleep, and home profiles, most of Touchless controls. But, that's what's great about android - there are so many options that please everybody.

I'd you couldn't tell its a paste from another post where I posted what I disliked about droid and my maxx. As for your great parts.. Don't like or use any of it. The s4 with 4.4.2 is what u like. If you are telling me that moto has its own I face for 4.4.4 then I just hate the moto.

As for your Sim statements and 3g 4g issue.. Don't have them when I pop it in my s4.. Only in the Maxx.

Again its a post from another I pasted, should have reworded it because there is always someone who reads to far into things but w/e. I was sleepy

BTW after checking to make sure I wasn't wrong.. Yeah.. Its 4.4.4 I don't like.

@DirtyTrees, everything you described that can be affected by software are Samsung-specific customizations. The Maxx is almost completely the official Android vision presented by Google. As stated, this has been the case since Android was conceived. In fact, the settings tiles are still fairly new to Android.

A tip: press-and-hold the WiFi tile. It should toggle. For unknown reasons the Android method and the Samsung method for this are the opposite.

I don't see why you were so defensive about doogald's post. Nothing in your list of complaints indicated that it was not written for this thread. Besides, it sounds like you are a huge fan of Samsung's customizations to Android. That's great! But understand that those features were never in the official Android operating system.

(p.s. I'm sure there are now other manufacturers who have also implemented some of these features.)

Check the double signature.

So I'm hating the moto Maxx.

Its text. If you want to read I like I got defensive so be it. Text is text. There is no emotion behind it when I type it. Sorry if you get emotional over it.

I don't think either of them were getting emotional with what you wrote. I think they were saying that since you hate moto Maxx so much then get rid of it. Sounds like you didn't do any research AT ALL before getting your moto Maxx, hence you displeasure. There are plenty of people that would buy it off of you I am sure and then you can go back to loving you Sammy phones.

Right, that was my point. You don't hate 4.4.4, you hate the Maxx. Really, it's samsung that has it's own "face". The Maxx is almost 100% stock android. It's extremely close to what you'd see on a nexus, much closer than samsung. When and if Samsung gets 4.4.4 I'm sure you'll love it.

I've been using my droid maxx with an at&t straight talk Sim for a while now and it usually works great but I've had a few issues. First was it randomly showing me connected to 4g LTE even though I have an at&t Sim card in. Full signal but I couldn't do anything that needed data. I disabled LTE and that stopped. My main issue is signal strength and battery life in areas that had great signal strength on my iPhone 5s with at&t straight talk. It bounces a lot between h+ and h even when not moving. The battery drains quite a bit faster. I don't know if the issues are related or not. Anyone else have these problems?

I made an account just to post this:

My droid maxx is working perfect on family mobile. I get 4g lte, hspa, hspa+, edge or whatever tmobiles 2.5g is, g and 3g.

(Full 4g got me 27mps down and 6 up)

I tried forcing the mobile network option to LTE/gsm/utms but found that simply keeping it "global" yielded flawless results.

I really don't understand how some people are claiming it isn't working, or that they're not getting 4g. For the record, the standard T-Mobile APN settings that they push to your phone are working fine.

That is what I needed to know; the answer to the original question. I just bought a Verizon-Motorola Droid Ultra that is GSM-unlocked and will be using it on T-mobile's Band 4, LTE.
