Hi guys I was just wondering do you guys think Motorola will give us android M when it comes out or is the moto e too cheap of a phone ?

Motorola might, but I doubt the carriers will. Most Moto E's still haven't got the 5.1 update.

You are certainly more likely to see an update, then, and I congratulate you on your good fortune! ;)

I'm pretty sure most versions are going to get Android M and I even have faith that of Verizon's going to give it to us

I have no doubts on Marshmallow.

My youngest brother's Moto E is currently stuck on 5.0.2 for this very reason. I really hope he'll get the 5.1 update soon.

Mine is the Verizon version, running on T-Mobile. I got the 5.1 update some time ago now (much to my surprise.) Forgive me for being cynical, but that's the first time in five years of using smartphones that I've ever received an OTA update.

Tesco Mobile. It's an MVNO running on O2's network here in UK. Run by the supermarket chain Tesco (hence the name).

Remarkable. The Moto E for Verizon is a prepaid device and it gets 5.1 quickly, faster than some other Motorola flagships.

I'm on Tesco Mobile too, and there's been no sign of it. Contacted them on Twitter a while ago & they said "the updates are sent out in waves so I can't give you an exact timescale. Your phone will notify you when ready"

Still on 5.0.2 for my Moto E as well. Purchased unlocked and using a prepaid plan. Curiously some other update was applied recently but no version change.

That would be the stagefright fix I assume.

My bro still hasn't got the 5.1 update. I'm assuming they're skipping straight to 6.0. Yet Motorola have produced it, so the work is 99% done. Annoying.

This is why I shall never purchase anything other than a fully unlocked phone.
