Will the Moto X Pure Edition work on Google Fi wireless service? I can't find any current info on this. Everywhere find is from 2015.

No, it will not.

From Google's Project Fi FAQ: When will Project Fi support other smartphones?
The Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 are the first smartphones that support Project Fi's network of networks. We currently only support these devices.

As Laura Knotek wrote: Not at this time. At this time only Google's Nexus 6P and 5X are supported on Project Fi.

Theoretically speaking: There's no reason why an MXPE shouldn't work. It has all the requisite hardware. And perhaps once Android N comes to the MXPE it will. But, for now: No go.

This, btw, is one of the things that keeps me off Fi. Don't particularly care for either of the current Nexus phones.

I read it does but only uses T-Mobile service and not Sprint. If you Google it there is an article on it.
