Will the S8 Plus cut into Note 8 sales?

Yes, but the plus sized S6 really wasn't marketed as the main flagship like the S8 Plus is.

Also to the other poster, $1100? Where did you hear this? WTF. That is way too much. With that price tag they're really aiming for an even more niche market.

Jut for an spen and maybe better camera over the S8 Plus that isn't really worth upgrading. I might pickup a Tab s3 to have the Spen then which it goes on sale again or they come out with a smaller 8 inch model.
That sounds like a price range for say US / Canada variance

S8+is being marketed as a flagship because there is no flagship with the Note 7 debacle. Note 5 was flagship but it's 2 years old now.

The Note 8 isn't going to cost $1100 lmao

Based on all the articles written, the leaked pricing equates to roughly $925 in the US. After taxes you're just shy of $1000.

For me I think that's too much. I say I "think because if it's as good at the Note 7 was I may suck it up and get one. Right now I'm pretty happy with the phones I have so I'm not as eager for the Note 8 as I was a couple months ago.

S8+ has 3500mah, note 8 rumor had 3300mah. Note 8 would be more power hungry than s8+. If that rumor is true then many would choose s8+ over note 8.

I wouldn't worry too much about battery. Most of the rumors I've seen call for at least a 3500mah battery to match the 8+

"Will the S8 Plus cut into Note 8 sales?"

I predict that it won't. The Note phones are always the biggest, baddest phones that Samsung releases in a year, so despite the similar screen estates this year, the Notes always seem to bring in the masses.

The reason we got a larger S was many people bought the Note for its screen size and not the pen. S6 Edge Plus and S7 Edge Plus both would have cut into Note sales.

Same thought here. Typing this on My S8 Plus and never thought i would say this but I am in no rush any more. Yes it would be nice to get back on Note series but it's a lot of money especially when I have such a capable phone as the S8 Plus.

Don't think it really matters... The profits from both phones go into the pockets of the same stock holders and government officials either way.

Based on the latest leaks, quite likely. I for one is really considering S8+ now duets the major disappointment in the leaks, only the dual camera is holding me back now

Think S series had always been the true flagship and outsell Note series? Even for Note 7, Samsung was only predicting a final sales figure of 19 million. That's really a small sales number

The leaks also show the camera with a hump similar to the V20. We all know the problems that cause with it shattering more easily. Other than dual camera, it doesn't look like it will be a lot different than the S8.

I bought a S8+ 2 weeks ago. My last day to return is today and I don't plan on doing that. I did plan on buying the Note 8 this year but now that I bought the S8+, I won't be buying the Note this year again. That's one sale that they won't be getting.

Have been a Note USer for many years Note 1, Note 2, Nate 4 Gave Note 5 a miss since battery was not removable. Now shifted to S8+ . Using it since last week dont miss the Note much...only the spen is not there! The screen size is similar.
It seems to me that Note 8 would have to have preety good specs to turn people its way!
By the way with custom Roms most of the features of the Note 8 would be available to s8 Plus ;-)
