Will the SD card for a Moto X4 be limited to what type of media?

Looking at the US version of the Moto X4, 32GB and reading about how you'll only end up with ~20GB of internal storage to use. So slap in an SD card of whatever type it uses. But I also read the card can only be used for 'media', not to hold apps.

I figure I won't download and use, consistently, more than ... Idaknow 16 apps at one time. Beyond what comes with the phone. If that takes up about half a Gig I should have plenty of room "internally".

Will I have any trouble storing lots of text docs, pdf's, pics or video on the SD card? First smartphone so I want to be sure as I'll be reading lots for work, etc.

Just want to be sure.

Thanks,

Mac

SD cards hold files. All kinds of files. Every kind of files. Files are files.

Yes, put your music and videos and pictures and documents on the SD card.
For apps that allow it, put their data on the SD card (camera, maps, GPS, games)

The phone and/or the version of android it uses will not let you install apps to the SD card. This is a limitation of the phone and/or its version of android. Android is slowly removing that feature from all phones.
