Apparently not, since Android 10 has many advance features, like having up to 5 cBluetooth devices connected.

So you either wasted the $200 on your current Tab A8, or you wull nee to go buy a new one, and spend days setting it up to be like the old one.

Which generation/release year are you referring to? That's the problem with the tablet naming -- it's can be hard to know which generation.

According to this Wikipedia article, the 2018 and 2019 models are upgradeable to Android 10, while the 2017 model is stuck on Android 9 Pie, and the 2015 model on Android 5 Lollipop.

And if this is a carrier-specific LTE-enabled model, system updates can also be up to the carrier, so sometimes the carrier-specific models don't even get the updates.

Maybe we ought to start looking for a replacement Android tablet in the 7 or 8 inch size.
The problem with that is most retailers only have Apple products or smartphones, and try to pass them off as "tablets."

Mine is an SM-T380.

The SM-T380 is the 2017 model (Wi-Fi only) which is upgradable up to Android 9 Pie.

Recently read an article where Samsung is lifting the 3 year update limit policy and devices may be updated beyond the old rules if the processor can support the OS.

I have a T-380 that I am trying to resurrect and have seen v10 FW for it and can't get it. And there are those that are taking old units and really updating them. Too bad I can't get anywhere with mine. It's in a Bootloop and in what Samsung told me to do to get out of it, did something to the OS.

I wouldn't bet on that. The reason most phones don't get more than 2 major updates is because it costs money for the vendor to develop the OS to work in their hardware. ("Android" doesn't specify hardware, just firmware. Manufacturers are free to do all sorts of seemingly crazy things to their hardware.)

8 and 9 are available for it all over the place. If it's bootlooped, you can't use it, but if you flash 9, at least it's usable. (Or, if you have to have 10, there are custom ROMs for it, built on 10, at XDA.)
