Will the Ultra have 4.3 out the door or get it later?

With JB 4.3 (possibly) being announced today, and the Ultra (and Moto X) coming out next month, do you think the Ultra (and the Moto X) will have 4.3 from the start?

If it's 4.2.2 and then 4.3 (or maybe 5.x) at a later time, then is VZW going to take six months to roll it out??

Inquiring minds want to know! :)

It'll ship with 4.2.2 but probably update by the end of the year like the RAZR M and HD did when they launched with 4.0

These devices will certainly see 4.3, sooner rather than later in my opinion.

Thank you. VZW has been doing better in the update department. I just didn't want this to be another DROID Razr update to ICS thing. :)

Another DROID Razr update thing? Still much easier than the Bionic updates lol I can't wait for these phones either way. Just waiting on the Moto X announcement to see which I'll decide on since I'm buying off contract to keep my unlimited plan

And will the Moto X be treated more like a Nexus and be pure Android?

It won't be pure Android because of the software features and tweaks that Motorola has added.

MOTO X will have the same software features that the new DROIDs showed off.

The leaked Rogers video.

I guess I didn't understand how that was answering his question, but I see you were just differentiating from stock android found on a nexus. Not making an inclusive prediction about the X's features.

:) Yup.

Even though the MOTO X is likely the first Motorola product with Google influence, it's still not a Nexus.

(One could argue though that the three new DROIDs were the first, just because they were announced officially before the X)

Okay. I guess I meant would it be updated faster, much like Nexus devices.

It may be updated faster on Moto's end. Only time will tell how fast the carrier moves to make the update available to the consumer.

In case anyone happened to all be wondering what it would ship with, my review unit is 4.2.2.
