My son's girlfriend visa is expiring, she will be returning to Brasil.
Will her Moto X work there? Bands seem to match up for 3G at least.

Yup, but only 3G for data, no LTE. You need band 7, 2600mghz for LTE in Brazil. You'll get updates here, as well.
