Will there be a Moto X for 2016?

Doesn't look much like an X on paper, but who knows what they'll call it. I interpreted the X isn't dead comment to mean that they're still supporting the 2015 X models.

Moto x 2016?

Hi all,

I know about the Moto Z but what's the latest on the new Moto X 2016? There was talk about it a month ago but nothing since. The Moto Z isn't available for Sprint and, among other things, I wonder if the Moto X 2016 will be. Any ideas where I can find some info? Has anyone heard anything lately?

I haven't heard anything. My guess is that if there is going to be a new Moto X that it won't be available until 2017, since the Moto Z just became available for carriers other than Verizon.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if the Moto X is discontinued.

I remember when the Moto Z was officially announced, Lenovo specifically mentioned that the Moto X was very much alive. Sorry I can't post the article at the moment but I remember that very clearly.

Edit: Here an article stating that the Moto X 2016 is still "alive and well" after the announcement of the Moto Z.

...the 2015 Moto X is still alive and well.

I doubt there is a 2016 model.
