Will there be ANY non-skinned android devices anymore?

This is what I don't understand. What is the highest selling android device? The original Droid. What tour of android ui was running on it? Stock vanilla. Is there something I'm missing?

At this point if a manufacturer put out a stock vanilla android device it would be differentiating itself from other device device manufacturers. This is a sad fact haha

Very true Brett. A lot of people complain that Stock Android is "ugly" -- and that's fine if they have that opinion, but I largely disagree. I never had an issue with the looks of stock Android and LOVED my experience on the OG Droid.

I wish phones had enough memory so that it could dual boot 2 versions of android. Stock and whatever their skin is. Plus this way we could update the stock version to the newest builds (which should be easier for manufacturers) to hold off the end user until they push out their updated skinned version of android.

A man can dream haha

I find it ironic that the very thing that irritates me the most about Android phones is the thing that makes the carriers' updates take so damn long. :p Seriously folks, offer a vanilla phone and the option to install the extras in an easy to use package. Something like ID on Sprint. You could then have the best of both worlds: A phone that could be updated quickly, but could still offer the "total experience" to people who want that crap.

Or at least let me remove your bloatware without rooting my phone!
