z06mike is right on. This link shows just some of the models available. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Full phone specifications

While some models, likely the "international" ones might be able to use a common firmware, carrier specific models must have the firmware built for the exact model. Otherwise the phone could be hosed, or rendered nonfunctional.
