Will this phone be as sluggish as the Priv?

Good question, but I have a feeling it will be a bit snappier than the Priv.

It does feel snappier, after trying both side by side. Supposedly GPU performance is still better on the Priv's 808, but it throttles a lot and battery is quite a drain.

Anyone know if it's nice and snappy? Opening apps in particular.

Since it's Blackberry mobile's flagship device for 2017 I think it will definitely be smooth. :)

Will it be faster than DTEK60 or Priv? We will have to wait and see for production devices to hit the market and then compare. It's also important to note that the KEYone has less pixels to push when doing 35 graphics so that is a help on the performance.

It also important to compare both devices while running the same OS.

I agree: we will get a better picture of that come launch date and when we have these devices out in the wild to test. But since BlackBerry's keyboard enthusiast market is so huge, I'm assuming they'll pull out all the stops for this phone. :)

UFS 2.0 or 2.1 would have helped. The read and write speeds using eMMC flash are about 1/3 to 1/4 the speeds.

Might be BlackBerry Mobile's Flagship.... but it's hardware is more like most OEMs low mid-grades.

Reviews are out on the KEYone, and "speedy" isn't being mentioned. One of the owners over on CrackBerry admitted it seems faster than the PRIV, but not as fast or smooth as the DTEK60. But hard to do a fair comparison as neither is running Nougat (if they ever will).

If you want a PKB... this IS the phone to get.

I am using the Keyone now, and I can say that it is much faster than the PRIV. It's like night and day. :)

I am reading a few reviews that say it gets sluggish with a lot of apps installed.

It really comes down to software optimization. I have the s8 plus and the moto z play, which the keyone has the same processor. The z play is a really great device. Never once have I said man this thing is slow or lagging. It isn't the best for gaming, but I don't think if you are into gaming you would even consider the keyone. I was going to pull the trigger today but it seems it's sold out everywhere. I really wish they went amoled with the screen, I can get crazy good battery life on the z play.
