will unlocked AT&T One X work on T-Mobile 4G?

I don't use my One X much anymore and my cousin needs a new phone as was asking about it. I thought that unlocking it would allow it to work because I thought T-Mobile and AT&T both used the 1700/2100 band for 4G but I can't find the info I had saved about all of that from earlier this year. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

Possibly, you'll get calls and text but data I think will be 2G-3G

You will NOT get LTE..
In areas where they have re-farmed the 1900mhz spectrum you will get HSDPA. Its not the full 4G like the 1700/2100mhz stuff they have but its not bad. In Dallas i tested out a One X and it was pretty good. That was back in February.

I have an AT&T One X that I bought outright. I then bought an AT&T SIM from Straight Talk and use the Straight Talk service. I also later unlocked the phone and bought a T-Mobile SIM from T-Mobile just to try their service. The unlocked One X worked fine with T-Mobile. T-Mobile only offers HPSA+ service in my area, not 4G LTE, so I don't know if it would work with LTE service. But T-Mobile doesn't have good coverage in some of the rural areas where I travel, so I went back to Straight Talk on the AT&T network. Bottom-line: pop in the Straight Talk SIM, AT&T service and phone number; pop in the T-Mobile SIM, and T-Mobile service and number.
AT&T recently opened their LTE service to prepaid phones. I had to buy a new 4G LTE SIM from Straight Talk, but now for $45 per month I get unlimited calls, text, and data at 4G LTE speeds. (If you read the Straight Talk fine print, you get 2.5 Gig of data at LTE speeds, and data is throttled after that, but $45 is still a lot less than I would pay with AT&T.)

Thanks for your help. My cousin is on the WalMart Tmobile deal and his current phone has a regular SIM but I guess he could get tranfered to a micro sim and try it. He is not a power user by any means so this might work for him. Guess we can give it a shot and see how it works out.

Then you must be in an area where 1900 also has LTE capabilities for TMO..
Your not getting them on the 1700mhz side as the HTC One X does not have the hardware to support it.

In the Seattle Area I get LTE on my at&t Nokia Lumia 920 with T-Mobile.

There is no such thing as a1900 LTE on T-Mobile or AT&T. The HTC One X does in fact have 1700mhz. I think all AT&T LTE capable phones have that band. Just look it up on AT&T website. You may be confusing gsm and umts with LTE bands.

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. Lol.
I tested out my att unlocked one X today with my tmo sim card and sure enough lte works just fine.
Pulled about 32 down and 24 up.

Sorry for any confusing or misleading info.
