The unlocked S8/S8+ are a pretty good deal stateside right now, any reason why one would not work ok in the U.K.?

Given that it has all of the bands, I don't see why not. Some years ago I purchased a used, unlocked Rogers phone and it worked great with AT&T.

Any phone should work on a GSM network. CDMA, you might have to do your research.

Thanks all.

The bands look fine was just wondering if there are any other considerations. I'm a sucker for a bargain!

As long as you have a return option, go for it. Great pricing right now and the phone, in my experience, is a joy to use.

Yes, at over£200 cheaper and my holiday coming to an end I took a punt and picked one up at Best Buy.

Simple answer yes it will work in the UK. All you need is an activated SIM card. Carrier unlocked means that all LTE bands are unlocked. Even my Verizon S8+ will work in the UK.

Really pleased with it. Also whilst I have set it up differently anecdotally the standby battery seems better than the UK S8+ I had earlier in the year. Probably just how I have set it up though.

Great to hear. VoWifi work with your UK carrier?
I presume Volte does not as it requires carrier Fw.?

I have VoLTE on my unlocked S8 using a Straight Talk Verizon SIM. Does an mvno count as a carrier?

I had to flash my carriers Fw ( EE UK) for Volte to work on my unlocked S8. Although it remains unbranded otherwise. VoWifi worked out the box.
Curious if my N8 will be the same. If it is, I hope sammobile etc hosts the firmware quickly after release.
