Will update get rid of my data?

I have a verbose gs4 and last night my phone noticed me that there is a system update available but I am worried it will wipe out all data for my apps. Is this true!?

Nothing got deleted off my phone when I updated it last week. You could always back up all your data on a computer or something if your worried about updating it.
