Will you be buying the Moto 360?

I can't decide whether I should wait on this, or pull the trigger on a Pebble.

I remember seeing somewhere that Moto said the 360 might be in short supply when it's finally released. I'm not sure if that's real or not. It would seem shortsighted to limit supply intentionally.

I have to admit I do like the round design as well.It all when depend on price, reviews, etc.
Its possible I would.

I would have to say that I will be getting the Moto 360. I think the round design makes it look like a regular watch and would love to surprise people when they realize it is a smart watch. I have only seen one or two Samsung Galaxy Gears in the wild and it is pretty noticeable with this huge rectangle on the person's wrist. Haven't seen any pebbles out there.

I'll probably be getting it. However, I do hope that they end up matching the buckle to the casing.
In other words, if the case (bezel around screen) is black, then the buckle (on the band) should be too.

I'm excited about Android Wear, but I need convincing that a round screen is any better for a smartwatch other than "it makes it look like my old watch". It's this reason I'm actually less enthused about the Moto. If the watch does what I want it to do, I care less over impressing other people with how it looks. I'd hate even more if it means that media I want to view gets shrunk down or cropped funny to accommodate the round screen. It just feels like the round screen is just for the sake of being different while adding no practical advantage.

Some of the justification I'm hearing sounds like "I wanted to wait before buying one of these new motorcars, until they made one that looked like my old horse and buggy!".

I need a professional-looking watch. I won't wear a plastic, cheap-looking watch no matter what it does. I love my Pebble Steel but I'm very interested in the Moto 360 if it looks as classy as it does in the prototype images I've seen.

It will be nice it Motorola Mobility can tell us when they are releasing the #Moto360
I am glade I did not get the Sammy Gear.

I will pre-order for sure.

I will certainly be buying one when it comes out. I have already sold my Galaxy Gear. I love that it runs with all the Google programs I love to use, and it is android based. Plus, unlike the Gear, if I switch to a different brand of Android phone, it will still work with it. One of the biggest factors is that it looks like a designer watch, which is key. I love that it can look like a designer watch, and not a builky square design.

If the Kairos hybrid does not become a reality, I will. But I really want the Kairos. A watch is not only functional, but it is a piece of jewelry to me. I'm also a professional, I'd like to wear something that will look good in business casual or a suit. If I'm wearing a suit, I would not even wear the Moto 360, which is the best looking smart watch so far. I would wear a Kairos, or switch back to my analog watch. Moto 360 is fine for business casual, but I want more.

I was planning on buying the first day it's available, but I think I may wait now (and by that I mean, like a week or so!).

The Kairos has an estimated delivery of December (which I find VERY hard to believe without having even seen a functioning prototype). Even assuming they make that estimate, the 360 is likely to be only one of many options by then, and probably not the top option anymore. So if you're waiting on the Kairos, the 360 probably won't be what you buy if it falls through.

Seriously considering it. I own a few watches but the nicest is around $2k and I don't consider myself a collector, though I see the attraction. Pluses:

+ At least one classic analogue screen that does not look like a toy or gimmick (to me anyway).
+ Lume & readability will never be a problem unless you run out of juice. I love aviator style watches but at 50 my sight has started to go and the smaller dials have become more for form than function.
+ I assume it will have a seamless world time function for travel. If it's too tied to the phone signal there will be an app work-around soon enough. Sorry but most of the world time solutions I've encountered are just too big or too arcane to operate, despite their captivating beauty. That's why I'm selling my MTG S1000.
+ My phone stays in my pocket with the ringer off & I do miss notifications. I'm always glancing at my watch, though.
+ Price point being leaked as around $250

Minuses:

- Has to be recharged. Wireless charging would make that easier to live with though.
- Durability: I'm a therapist in a hospital and the Gshock I wear to work shrugs off abuse that a smartwatch might not stand up to.
- Built in obsolescence. Something better will be along every few months (LG already making their move) and in two years the battery will wear down enough to make the watch worthless landfill. When a well made and maintained mechanical watch can last forever, this just makes me sad.

You can bet I'll be in the store within a month of the release trying one on, though. I can't help myself.
