Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?

Will you jump to the Nexus 6 from the Nexus 5?

Do not get me wrong the OPO is a great phone, I emailed tech support twice and both times it took longer than a week to reply. So I did not have a great customer service experience.

Thanks for the input.

I highly doubt it'll the 6 is going to be announced next week, but if it is, then yes I'll only use the 5 until I get the 6.

Thinking of sticking with the Nexus 5 had it for about 10 months I just think that 5.9in is just too big for me I'll just pull out my Nexus 7 if I need a bigger screen.

Rumors are saying the 5.9" Nexus 6 will have the same body size as the 5.7" Note 3/4 due to having super small bezels. I'm just pointing this out because the Note 3/4 is a very usable size so it isn't worth jumping to conclusions that the Nexus 6 will be too large, unless the Note 3/4 is too large for you, too.

I'm praying it is announced this week since I'm all set to get a Note 4 on Friday. If I can get a bigger screen in the same sized body with pure Android I'd drop the Note like a bad habit. Well, assuming they make use of the size to give it a massive battery and the camera is up to snuff as well.

Can you help me? I nearly got one but wanted to know if the speakers were decent for navigation? (nearly went for the moto x 2014, but more money) reconsidering the nexus 5....

Same here. I like my N5. N6 looks a little big for me and I like the design and feel of my N5! I'm sure it's going to be a nice phone though!

The speaker (singular) is fine, but it's no M8.

I liked my Nexus 5 (except for the really bad battery life I got) and it was a much better phone than my Nexus 4. But I sold it last week in prep for the Nexus 6 (or maybe a Sony Z3). Figured it was better to get rid of it now before the price drops (if it drops that is like with the N4 when the N5 came out).

They just announced that N6 is $649.99 off contract via Google store. $200+ more for minor bump than my N5? No thanks.

I never though I'd say this but with that price, I'm leaning towards more on note 4.

don't get me wrong, I'd love to have it but as soon as I saw the price... not sure anymore.

Couldn't agree more. I thought the point of the nexus was to showcase android as intended and receive fast updates from google all at an outstanding price... If I wanted top of the line features and a huge price tag I wouldn't be using a nexus. Also, I like how the n5 was based off the g2 but has its own unique hardware. This just looks like a plus size moto x. Why not just call it the moto x plus?

My guess is that this is the big bang launch, and that a smaller cousin will follow. I will definitely not be buying this device for $649. One of the biggest - if not the biggest - draw of a Nexus device used to be that it was inexpensive and rivaled bigger names in features and power. Without that smaller price tag, that place seems to have been taken by Motorola's G line.

To be sure, that's probably good for Google. Google has been able to launch this device with carriers, something we haven't seen before (at least not since the very first Nexus). If that way Nexus phones make it into the hands of more consumers, that's a good thing for pure Google Android and quick updates. Motorola seems to be taking a hold on the budget market, so Google may feel that it no longer needs to "demonstrate" that good, solid Android phones can be put into the hands of budget conscious consumers.

Highly doubt it. Probably way too big for my preference and definitely more money than I'd prefer to spend.

I was 90% sure I'll, but I think I will hold off now. the size of the phone already was a concern for me before, but now that I know what the price is, I'm down to 30% sure I'll switch. too bad, cause I really wanted a bigger screen and longer battery. a 5.5-5.7 inch and longer battery life would be perfect. I'll probably wait longer now, going to wait and see how are the reviews going to be. my one other concern is the camera quality. moto are not known for their camera. a note 4 would be perfect for me if they have a play version. I guess since the nexus 5 will be getting the lollipop update soon, that should be good for me for awhile. hopefully the battery life of the nexus 5 will see some improvements after the update.

If for some magical reason the Playstore version is cheaper at $550, I might still buy the Nexus 6. But if it's $650, I might consider getting a used Nexus 5 as my backup device.
