I have only had my Optimus V for about a month so I can still return it. I think the Incredible S will be a better phone but the $500 will make a much larger hole in my pocket. What do you guys think?

but if you could afford the incredible, why not just hop on verizon for the thunderbolt with 4g?

To Overthinkingme, I'm working on getting rid of my verizon phone. I wanted to see if the coverage for Sprint would work well in my area and it works just fine. It was a test drive.

Toceejay83, I don't have 4g in my area so I don't care about the 4g phones and my Verizon bill is $100. Sometimes I go over in text so it cost more than my $100 plan. For the $40 that Virgin Mobile charges I will be fine and I can text all I want, saving $60 a month.

FWIW, my conclusion is no, I would not personally. I uses cost vs rewards analysis.

I ask myself is $500 worth it? What do I need this phone for? My answers: Mostly for making/receiving calls. Have access to iNet during work hour, so I can visit sites that aren't blocked by company, get personal emails, chats. I can also listen to music on this phone. Occasionally plays some games (ie, chess, angry bird, hr challenge, tetris, mini golf) on it. All in all, Optimus V works very well for me. I also switched to VM so instead of paying $45.90 for voice only, I pay less than that for voice, text and data. If I go with Incredible, all of a sudden, my monthly bill is doubled (AT LEAST) and may even tripled. I may even get locked into a 2 year contract.

Of course, if the costs were the same (phone costs the same, monthly fee costs the same), it's a no brainer, I'd pick HTC Incredible.

One of the reaons I love my V is the small form factor. I don't want to be holding a brick or tablet up to my head when making a call. If I need a larger screen for something else, then I figure I should be doing it on a tablet or pc.

I'll pass on it. The only reason I switched to VM + Optimus V was to save money overall, so that wouldn't work in my situation. Plus the Optimus V does what I need and more just fine for me.

The reason most people are on virgin mobile is because it saves them around $75 a month, if you want to pay a hundred bucks a month for a phone then do it but a lot of us here believe there are better things to spend our money on, this goes for any phone on any of the "big four" carriers

all the news i see is that its only for canada. Ive got a V, and i love it so far other than the battery life, but since im a phone and android die-hard, the second a better phone comes out on virgin i will be buying it :)

It seems like a few people are saying that their phone bill would go up, why would it go up?

When I read the article I thought it was going to come to the US as well but reading it again it might be only VM Canada that's getting the Incredible S.

I only brought it up because people say they would switch to VM if they had better phones. With the Incredible S that argument would go away.
-Just a thought.

why are we talking about phones released on VM canada? doesnt mean it will ever come to VM usa!
yeah VM Canada has the iphone 4 as well but it doesnt mean they are going to have it for VM USA.
lets wait till theres news for actual VM USA

did you even read what the OP just said?

He thought it meant we were going to get the phone here in the us.

Lay off the guy.

the incredible S uses 2.2. The european reviews have the phone marked down as one of the fastest, best optimized phones around. Guess sticking to a better optimized version of 2.2 gets that.

I assume the Incredible 2 on verizon (same phone) will be the same.
