Will your GNex last until your next upgrade?

I have had no problems with my nexus and I couldn't ask for it to perform any better. Of course I would like to have a battery like the maxx has even though my nexus battery lasts over 12hrs on a single charge. I want the s3 cuz I've always liked Samsung devices and I like touchwiz as well. Unless I get a straight trade for an s3 I won't buy one. It would have to be bought out of contract for me to keep my unlimited data and I don't have an upgrade coming anytime soon.

I'll buy a new phone when this one isn't able to do what I need when I need it to. And the contract has nothing to do with it because I wont be subsidizing a phone again at Verizon so I can keep my current plan with unlimited data.

Ill buy one when the new nexus comes out but the only thing is I doubt Verizon will get it again... Ill just wait till a phone I want comes out and let it depreciate then buy it off of craigslist... The hard part for me will be waiting until it depreciates because I usually buy my phones on launch day.. But I dont want to pay 700 for a phone so I guess ill just have to wait lol...

It'll have to, I plan on paying full retail for all future phones if it means I get to keep my unlimited data plan

Not sure I can justify paying $600+ to make the tiny bump from a Nexus to an S3

Heck, I might even have to pass on the next Nexus given these full retail prices!

Just wait till they are like 3 months old. They will drop to around 400... 350 if u find someone desperate on CL...

Is it cheaper via Craigslist as opposed to direct from Verizon?

The stratosphere is still $410 full retail from Verizon!

I'm keeping my gnex on vzw. But I'll be buying a off contract phone once I join the air force.

I have another eligible upgrade in October but my plan was to wait until a 5.0 Nexus was announced. Now that Google has decided that the CDMA / LTE Nexus won't be updated on the same track as all the others is there even a reason to buy the next VZW Nexus if they get one? Also with AOKP, CM and the like I could honestly by any phone really.

Game plan is to wait for 5.0 though, then definitely upgrade.

I'm not one for having to have the latest and so called greatest.
I paid retail for my droid X because I felt my droid 2 was too small. I purchased the droid 2 because the X was always on backorder.

At this time I don't feel I'm missing anything, my Nexus is fine. I don't care about quad core, I have super video installed (which is the same as popup play on the SGIII), I don't care about s-voice, I don't want a device with a 5 inch screen, and 4.8 is barely noticeable over 4.65.

Of course I can't predict the future, but right now I don't see anything that don't have with my Nexus that is a must have.

Agreed. My GNex has done everything I expected it to, short of fixing VZW's sloppy coverage in our area.

Seems some Sprint users should be receiving their 16GB GSIII preorders today. It will be interesting over the coming weeks to see if & how the tone of posts from GSIII users changes.

I haven't seen a phone released yet that is "perfect" (without a little tinkering).

I foresee myself keeping my GNex a lot longer than any other phone I've owned (although I bought the GSIII as a gift for my better half...so at least I'll get to play with it.:)).

Considering that I will no longer be purchasing phones with on-contract pricing so I can keep my unlimited data, I'll be buying full price from here on out. Also the actual expense of buying full price kind of helps in me keeping my existing phone a little longer. :p

well since If you upgrade after 6/28 you get your unlimited data dropped.. mine will last as long as it can then ill buy off contract phones..or drop vzw that ever comes first :D

By that point, and likely be year's end, most if not all of the carries will be on a similar shared plan. I don't expect any one company to maintain unlimited data, or at least an unlimited data plan at a reasonable price.

Phones on each carrier will likely compete more evenly, and it will come down to who has the best coverage in your area.

Waiting for the next Nexus. If Verizon doesn't get it I may very well go to where it is.

I will be keeping mine at the very least until the next upgrade cycle. I have some other uses for that money, you know other vital things like tattoos and upgrades to my bike.

I love the phone, I do covet the larger size of the Note, but I am not hopping ship back to AT&T for it, so I will just wait. By the time I am ready to upgrade my GN there will probably be a larger phone waiting for my from Big Red.

Was gonna get the GS3 but I just re-customized my phone again and I realized this phone is good enough to last me until the next Nexus. All the extra's that the samsung galaxy S3 and the One X have added I've found and app that can duplicate the same functionality.

Since I'll never be able to upgrade again without losing unlimited data, my next upgrade means nothing to me. Now I will just buy new phones when I like one and have the money.
