Let me start by saying That the thunderbolt is what lead me to AC In Jan. I have been basically addicted to the forums since the first leaks started about the bolt.
This will be my first smartphone. I am coming from an env3. last year I was following the Incredible as my upgrade was coming a few weeks after its launch. My dad came with me to try and buy one as well since he had been using his 4th Samsung glide (worst "touch screen" phone ever made). The Rep would not let my dad upgrade as only my line was eligible and the rest where over 10 months away.

Since he had been sucking it up with his terrible phone for 3 years I decided to give up my upgrade to him..as much as it killed me to give up the phone I had been lusting over for months...he needed it much more then me.

10 months later and Now another really great device is within my grasp...I just need an awesome case to put it in!
thanks guys!:)

ALL HAIL KING THUNDY ... (Get it ... Hail? ... no?)

Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.

When it was released as the Evo on sprint LOL. In all seriousness, Being in the wireless retail field, I quickly found out about the TB (or Mecha) as soon as it was announced. Instantly fell in love.

What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?

4G LTE, Front facing cam, Speed, Power, Size ... What else do you need in a phone ... Keep your Dual core and locked down bootloader Motorola, Im Sticking to the only company who has never let me down ... HTC (Tmobile MDA, Tmobile Dash, and Droid Eris FOR LIFE!!)

How crazy you've gone through all these delays?

1 Word ... 'Really friggin crazy' :mad::confused::mad:

What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?

Heres the best part ... My Thundy is sealed ... Thats right, Ill have one at launch (or soon to come.) I work for a Verizon Premium Retailer. In February we had a sales contest. Who ever sold the most Verizon Fios (NOT AN EASY SALE  ) Would win a Thunderbolt! Well, I worked my butt off!!! I made posts on facebook, Begged my family, Handed out fliers in the streets, Printed up special business cards, even PAID people to put fliers under doors. All and all I ended up with a WHOPPING 36 Fios sales, To put this in to perspective for you, My company owns 20 locations ... 10 in Jersey, and 10 in New york ... The ENTIRE state of new york (thats 10 locations with 4-5 sales reps per store) did ONLY 24 sales (TOTAL) ... And if you add up the rest of new jersey after myself and the runner up, The REST of JERSEY (again, 10 stores, 4-5 reps) DID ONLY 19!!!!!! So yeah, I killed myself, Worked my butt off and even worked a shorter month than most (was hospitalized for a few days due to a stomach virus) But clutched it out for the win. Which is why my hard work, dedication, and victory, would only be enhanced if I could not only win a BEAUTIFUL phone, But the king of cases to match!

And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.

Yeah, Android rocks ... And sorry to all my co-workers who DIDNT get one. If I had to add anything else, It would be that at the same time I was #winning my Thundy, I was assisting my coworker in a separate sales competition. Who ever sold the most of a specific phone, would also get a Thunderbolt. Every time I would get a customer interested in that device I would let him reap the rewards. He has only been working in Wireless sales for about 2 months, And hes already won a premiere device, and beat out dozens and dozens of other employees. As gratitude for my assistance (My help brought him from 8th place to 1st in only the last 3 days of the contest) The wallpaper on this Thunderbolt, Will be a picture of me holding my Thunderbolt (who if you havent realized by now is named THUNDY)

1. Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.

Around Thanksgiving/Christmas 2010 I began thinking hard about what phone I would like to get when my contract came up for renewal. I knew I wanted to move to the Android platform, and liked what the Incredible had to offer, and I'm partial to HTC as a manufacturer. When I began investigating options, I started seeing rumors about an Incredible HD / Inc 2 / Future Unnamed Big Thing from HTC. This piqued my interest, and thus began my tech-geek-induced lust for this new toy.

2. What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?

Yes, Yes, Yes! The features - processor, RAM, expandable storage, large screen, dual camera, potential for simultaneous voice/data, and the Kickstand :) All of the above and more have been big draws to the Thunderbolt. Being one who tends to find a good device and stick with it until the next renewal cycle, I didn't want to "settle" for something that I knew was already deprecated. I know that the Thunderbolt has all the features I'm looking for, with the exception of an HDMI output jack. I am also glad that HTC has been keeping up with updates to the Android OS and consistently releases updates in a timely manner.

3. How crazy you've gone through all these delays?

Wow. This has been a tough few months. With my wife and I both needing to get new phones, we have been tempted to settle, but together made the decision to wait it out. She was sorely tempted to go for the iPhone, but also decided to wait until the Thunderbolt was available before making her final decision. Needless to say, the past week has been excruciating, and there was a brief, albeit jestful, moment where we looked at each other and she said "really, you don't want to go and stand in line on Wednesday Night?" To which I responded, "no, we can stick to our plan to wait for the weekend."

4. What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?

As indicated above, we are planning on waiting until the weekend then going to a physical location to get our new phones.

5. And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.

Ever since the "Thunder, Thunder, Thunderbolt" headline appeared on the front page of this site, I've been having visions of the old ThunderCats cartoon series going through my head. Has anyone sampled Lion-O's catch phrase and replaced "ThunderCats - Ho!" with "Thunderbolt-Ho!" yet? If not, I might just have to do it.

Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.
Honestly, way to long. I know a lot of people might think they have waited long, but I was waiting for the PERFECT phone for about 18 months now. After CES, I discovered the HTC Thunderbolt and truly believed it was THE phone to get. I HAD a the BlackBerry Storm 1, but could not handle its bog downed speed. I actually got super frustrated and threw my Storm inside a shopping cart and cracked the screen. I've been using a Motorola BT51 for the past 6 months since the incident. Believe me, ANYTHING is better than the Storm or this flip phone.

What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?

There really isn't a certain feature I am interested in. I am aroused on the whole phone. I really enjoy the HTC Sense and need to show my friends how OVERRATED the iPhone is. I think the camera is something I am stoked about. 8 Megapixels?! That is just heartwarming. I am also very interested in how fast the 4G LTE speed really is! Lets see if it lives up to its name!

How crazy you've gone through all these delays?

I have gotten pretty obsessive over this phone. I was truly expecting this phone on the 14th of February (one of the saddest days in my life). I have been checking Android Central everyday for a couple hours. I would refresh the page over and over again. Just the other day, I even bookmarked Bennnnn's Android Central page, so I could view his most recent post in just a click. I preordered the phone when Best Buy announced they were doing preorders. The preorder was definitely a teaser. Honestly, I had lost a bit of faith on this phone. I was originally going to get this phone today (17th of March), but to save money I ordered the phone off of the Verizon website. Which, also means another 2 more days of waiting... I am about to go berserk! Well, atleast there will be plenty of reviews for me to read, while I wait.

What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?

Well, to tell you the trust, I am quite frugal. Ordering online from Verizon would've saved me the most money. Also, by ordering online off of Verizon, I got 2 day shipping, which isn't to bad. I spent to much time debating on whether to buy it from Best Buy, Wirefly, or Verizon. I just made a quick decision this morning to buy it online.

And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.

I have made Android Central my homepage on multiple computers at home. This the only site that I really go to for my Android needs. I told all my friends that I will soon have a phone that will overcome theirs! They all laughed at me because I am currently using a flip phone. (Yes! they still exist!)

I went in my local Verizon store a month and a half ago to upgrade my Motorola Droid 2 to a Motorola Droid x and the sales person told me about the thunderbolt.. he told me the specs and I had to have it... Even though I was unsure cause I had never had an HTC phone. However after going through six Droids in less then six months I think I was gonna happily take the chance..

What didn't attract me to it? The memory the processor the movie size screen the awesome design the camera the whole thing is amazing..

I loaded my Droid down with every tech app keeping an eye while holding my breath waiting for every little crumb about this holy grail of a phone. In fact quite often I forgot to start breathing again and I would pass out. Generally falling and smacking my head.. I still have several bumps on my noggin as I type this.

I plan on winning an HTC thunderbolt from here or purchasing one at the local VZW store... Prefer to win one.. hint hint lol.

Can't wait to win a case for my newly won thunderbolt :-)
Thanks you guys cause after the medical bills for all these concussion I can't afford a case lol
Thanks
Ronin

Let's give this a try...

[*]Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.

Back in late September, early October 2010, my 2 year contract with Verizon was up. I started to look for phone option. Available choices were good though I was hesitant about staying with VZW's 3G network. Then I read up on the new LTE network and found out about the Incredible HD/Mecha, and my faith was renewed.

[*]What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?

There are many things that spoke to me. The form factor was good looking. I'm a fan of the Evo 4G so having a freshly polished version of HTC/Sprint's masterpiece was very enticing. I like Sense and the work that HTC have put into it (though I would love a clean Gingerbread intstallation instead). And mostly the promise of a fast connection to the web via VZW's 4G LTE network.

[*]How crazy you've gone through all these delays?

Um no, there were no official delays. Though I've been very disappointed that all of the rumored dates didn't come to fruition. I've check every tech websites for updates every time I'm near a computer, laptop, phone. AC forum was my most visited, however, not kidding.

[*]What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?

I bought the phone online 45 minutes after midnight. 45 minutes because the Verizon website was a slog to get through, probably due to to many rabid buyers trying to do the same thing I was trying to do.

[*]And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.

I want to sing a song for my Thunderbolt...

"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
And I know I know I know I know I know I want you."

Thank you for reading.

Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.

What first got me interested in the TB was when it was announced at CES in January and I found out it was going to be the first LTE phone released on the Verizon network. I knew at that moment I must own this phone. Plus my OG droid is looking mighty ratty and worn as well lol.

What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?

What interests me most about the Thunderbolt is of course the blazing fast LTE service and what actually was the deal breaker for me to not wait for the other LTE devices is the fact that this phone comes with a 32GB pre-installed micro SD card. I listen to and store my entire music collection on my phone so that I can have my music with me where ever I go and having this $75-100 item come with the phone was the bees knees. I have a 16GB card in my OG droid and it is about maxed out on storage space so I was thinking of purchasing a 32GB card anyhow...now I don't have to!

How crazy you've gone through all these delays?

The delays have driven me completely nuts this past month but now that I will finally have it in my hands tomorrow

What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?

My original purchasing plan started way back on Valentine's Day, when the phone was first rumored to be released at Best Buy. I did the pre-order routine with Best Buy thinking that getting one from a third party retailer was alright and proceeded to wait out all the rumored dates and hyperbeasting of this now notorious smartphone. So finally March 17th rolls around and the phone is finally announced and available for sale. I stroll into my neighborhood Best Buy and after waiting 30 mins for an available rep to assist me was told that I wasn't eligible for an upgrade...I was to say the least a little perturbed. They told me since it wasn't showing in their system I'd have to call Verizon and talk to them about an early upgrade. Now mind you, I had been told numerous times BY VERIZON that I was indeed eligible for an upgrade. I called them up and the rep was very nice and said that she would order me one and have it shipped to my address overnight and that they would charge it to my account. I was so stoked to get my phone today but it just didn't happen. So I'm waiting an extra day and it will be here tomorrow. Not a big deal since I waited a whole month longer than I had originally anticipated waiting for the phone.

And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.

The Humorous part about my purchasing plan story was that it was pretty much my fault and now I know for future reference anytime Verizon offers you an "early upgrade" it means that you can only purchase direct from a Verizon store and not through a third party retailer. Oh well...now all I need is a cover to protect my TB!

Tell us when you first started showing interest in the TB.
I first wanted the Thunderbolt back in November, when I thought that the Thunderbolt was the HTC Merge, and was waiting for it to come out. I later figured out that the Thunderbolt was a completely different phone. No matter, I'll wait, I said!

What interested you the most (features/aesthetics,etc.)?
Definitely the 4G data, and the large screen. Also, the fast processor (sort of?) I'm coming from an original Droid, and let me tell you, the screen on this phone is amazing in comparison! And I thought the Droid's screen was really great before!

How crazy you've gone through all these delays?
God, I've been telling my friends "Okay, today is finally the week! I'm getting a new phone on Thursday!" And each Thursday would come and go, and I would try and get them to forget about it... Ugh. And my Droid had started becoming less responsive, less willing to make calls, etc etc. I couldn't wait for this thing to come out so I could actually use my phone like a phone again!

What your purchasing plan is: online, brick and morter, waiting outside Verizon's store all night?
I went to one of those secondary retailers (is that what you call them?) and I actually ended up being the first person to buy the phone at that location! Felt pretty proud about that, except it took them forever to figure out how to activate the SIM card for some reason!

And anything else that you think we'd find humorous or interesting.
I'm seriously the best person at making pancakes, other than my mom. At least, that's what I think. Also, my roommates think that!

And the winners are....
