I would say that the thing that excites me the most about virtual reality is the accessibility that it brings to experiences and training. Imagine someone who can walk or move around vary well being able to go skydiving or rafting down a river.
I'm in the military and I can imagine being able to use these for training. Right now we have a system called the EST 2000 and is a weapons simulation system that uses projectors and laser tracking for simulated engagement. Shooting a wall is not vary good training but having an interactive environment where you can not only react to threats but be able to use your peripheral vision for situational awareness. That type of training could save the live of my fellow soldiers and in think its awesome.
The porn industry isn't as excited as I am! My contract for my lgg2 is up in October and the g3 is the one for me. My friends upgraded before me to the g3. If I could upgrade to catch up And get the vr?!!? That would be the "bees knees"! I just hope sprint can handle the bandwidth I'll take up if I win one!
Since I was a little kid I am waiting for the perfect immersion into another reality. I haven't been so excited with gaming since I got my commodore Amiga 500, to be honest, I really hope this is it!
Who doesn't get excited about experiencing alternate realities? It's some people's life goal. Taking a step out of your normal perceptions can give you great insight and perspective. That and they look cool as hell! Plus, new smartphones are getting crazier and crazier by the year. I'm really looking forward to what the human race can accomplish with technology.
