Wireless charger getting phone warm

I just picked up a wireless charger and noticed the phone and wireless charger get warm and just wanted to know if that was normal. It was at about 104 degrees when I took it off. I just want to make sure its not hurting the phone or battery.

This is true, but at the same time depends on the phone and wireless charger. With my TYLT Vu it charges my MAXX as fast as normal charging and the phone doesn't get any warmer... My battery life has actually been getting better. Probably due to the Vu's high power output and good design.

There's nothing wrong with wireless charging. You just have to find a charger that doesn't get your phone boiling lava hot.

The Ghost 100 works just fine.

Mine gets up to 111 at the hottest, but I've noticed this level of heat in a car using gps navigation. I figure, if it gets this hot with navigation, then 111 can't be that bad for the phone. My phone also gets close to a 100 on a regular charger. I don't think an extra 10-12 degrees makes much of a difference in the long run. I certainly haven't noticed any ill effects in the last 6 months.

Since the wireless charger I have plugs in with a micro USB I use a different one than what came with it and it stays cool and seems to charge at the same rate. I have read though phones running at 110 seem to be doing just fine so I could switch back if needed.

Wireless charging could make some heat, I purchased "CHOETECH" 3rd Generation Qi Wireless Charger from Amazon, the temperature record of the battery shows the temperature gets to 39 C degree, this is a little bit warm but still in normal condition. This one is very convenient, I can put my phone at any place on the pad and it will charge, no need to find the sweet spot.

Yes wireless charging does cause heat with the phone and charger but if you use the proper charger it is completely safe for your phone. A universal wireless charger like the ones some vehicles have are also safe but charge slower. Now I agree that a wireless charger is basically useless if you want to charge and use your phone at the same time but if you just want to charge the phone (like when you are sleeping) it's perfect. A big advantage of wireless charging is there is less wear and tear on the charging port of the phone. The more times you plug in the cord the sooner that port will quit working. Broken Charging ports are a common issue and normally when the charging port goes bad the phone isn't worth spending the money on to fix it. I personally have a wireless charger on my night stand (for when I am sleeping) and I have a long cable charger beside the chair I sit in normally. The cable charger gives me the ability to charge while using my phone in the chair and the wireless charger helps eliminate a bunch of wear and tear on my charging port. I charge my phone on the wireless charger every night and I avoid plugging in my cable charger till my phone battery gets below 15%. Most days I never end up plugging the cable charger in to my phone. In the end a cell phone is made to last around 2 years and you maybe be able to push that to 3 years or more but only by avoiding wear and tear.

Hello! I have a JW QI wireless charging pad. Phone gets warm but the pad doesn't. Is this normal? Have had no issues other than that. I believe wireless charging is safe...well some of them are.

Me and the wife have been using wireless charging since my wife got a S6 a few years ago. We have one in every room and both of our cars.

They can get very hot at times and usually when your phone gets to a limit, your phone will stop the charging process and make a beep noise every few minutes. (This applies to samsungs)

Even though our phones can get hot, if we keep using and putting back on the pad,. Non of our batteries have ever drastically got any worse....your battery will lose effectiveness as it gets older anyway but never seen any evidence to suggest wireless charging is to blame.....they would never of made the tech if it was to damage your battery as battery failer comes under most warranties and they will end up paying out for it anyway. I pretty sure some of the advice for battery is that a slow charge is better than quick charging it every time.

If anyone is worried about heat then buy the Samsung convertible fast charger made for the s8 and s9 and will work with any wireless charging phone.....this charger has a fan in it and keeps the process cool.....NEVER over heated on that pad.

Also wouldn't advise people putting wireless chargers by your bed....if your do ever end up needing to take your phone off the pad you may not notice if your asleep and that's prob when battery get ruined when it's on and off charging as your battery cools and overheats non stop.

Also most wireless pads have big lights on them when charging and usually light the room up keeping everyone awake and in the case of the Samsung convertible charger the fan isn't as silent as they state, and the noise from the fan can keep your up all night.....actually never found a wireless charger that I would be happy putting next to my bed.
