wireless charger recommendations

I just looked on the AT&T site and I can get two of the nokia wireless chargers and a pack of zagg wipes for $40 bucks shipped. That is almost too cheap not to do it.

I used to have a Lumia 920 with the Nokia wireless charger, and it didn't work on my Nexus 4. However, I had gotten rid of it before I got the Nexus 5 so I can't say whether or not that works. If you decide to get it you should test it first. Maybe you could go in to an AT&T store and try it?

I have never owned a phone with wireless charging capability until the N5 so I don't really know what to look for. Are there any concerns about using a wireless charger?
Also, I am willing to pay extra if it means better performance/functionality.
Thanks for your help.

i own one...., actually 5, from 2009 to 2012.

upside: no plugging
downside: heat and waste energy

Nokia Lumia 920 wireless charger works fine. In fact, since it is a industry standard Qi charger, it will be compatible with any phone that supports wireless Qi standard, like Nexus 5. There isn't any need for specific Google model.

Yes I know it's Qi standard, but it didn't work on my Nexus 4 for some reason. I could, however, charge my 920 on my Nexus 4 charging orb.

Could it have been an issue with finding the sweet spot to get it charging?

I've been looking at the Zen's charger for a while now and might be getting one of those. I'd like to get the TYLT charger but that's a bit out of my price range. Zen's seems to be getting good reviews so I'm optimistic that it will work great in my situation.

Could be, but I moved it all over. Nothing worked. It was strange though that the 920 charged on my Nexus orb.

It's a bit pricy but it's worth every penny. The Nexus 5 charges seconds after putting it on and it charges in nearly any position (don't need to hunt for the "right spot" for the charge to begin). It also makes a great addition to the desk since it's pretty sleek looking. The design lets you use the device, too, if you so want.

This is my first time using wireless charging and the convenience can't be overstated. It's not so much that you don't need to plug a cable in, it's more about the fact that it's charging nearly all the time, which means you're never really worrying about the battery life anymore. Before, you'd set your device down on the table, only bothering with the cable if you knew you needed to charge your batts. Now, you put it on the charger instead so it's always charging regardless. The battery, therefore, is always being "topped off." When you return to it or whenever it is you pick it up next, you're 10, 15, maybe even 20% more charged than before (the amazing thing is it charges pretty fast). You're never really worried about battery life anymore.

It also eliminates messy USB cables. Even though the wireless charger itself has a cable, it's always tucked away behind the charger. It's never "loose" so to speak. You're never tugging for it or looking for the end of the cable. Now, there's just this one designated place to charge your device. Plunk it down and you're good.

It's really nice.

Does it work with a case on the phone?

I have two LG WCP-300 wireless chargers. One on my nightstand at home, the other on my desk at work. Power cord is the same as the one that comes with the Nexus, so if you need a quicker charger, or need to do a data transfer, you have the cable to do it. Both were $40 at my local Verizon store, which at the time, was cheaper than Amazon.

The Nexus 4 was a special case when it came to wireless chargers. The charging coil in the N4 had issues interfacing with some chargers. This has been rectified in the Nexus 5. The Nokia chargers work fine with it.

i'm tempted by this one but want to hold out for the Official Nexus 5 one. how do you like it?

+1 for the Nokia DT-910. It is a stand like the TYTL one, but got it from the AT&T store for ~$50. I have had no issues with my Nexus 5 with and it would be difficult to place it so that it doesn't charge. You do need to keep it in an upright orientation for the charging. I like the angle it uses and it makes a perfect bedside stand for me.

with the older Nexus 4 charging hockey puck and the TYLT VU they both work just fine with the Spigen Neo Hybrid case with no problems at all... I am sure if you had a thick enough case on your phone that it COULD in theory cause the charge to be slow or not work at all... but I am not having any issues with the case I have on it now..

I'm in the market for one if not two of these myself. I've got my eye on the Zens if the price drops around the holidays - I like the size of the pad for charging my tablet. I do like the LG puck charger but for near $50 I'm really waiting to see what the official from Google looks like.

I really like how it looks and it's over $20 cheaper than the VU..... Looks like it's holding the phone up a little more upright than I would like but dang if I could have gotten that from the AT&T store and not had to wait almost 8 days for the VU to ship I would have at least tried this one out....

Google debuts new wireless charging pad with support for Nexus 5 and 7

They made it flat and square.. Plus it says it has magnets that work with your Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 to hold it perfectly in place.... No clue why they release these devices and then take months to release the accessories..

Is wireless charging faster than AC adapter or USB? Otherwise I dont understand what are the advantages. The device cant be used (mobility) while its charging wirelessly, as compared to when its wired.
