Wireless Charging -- Confirmed?

This will help keep me on Pixel..... but that Notch! SMH

They key to getting over the notch is to understand that it provides more screen real estate, not less. Still looks bad, but it does have a positive function.

Given how much people key in on aesthetics in smartphones, wait until you see how ugly the monstrosity antennae modules are for supporting 5G.

Why did u have to confirm this ...lol

Well I do know rumors have been around that they have heard or someones mother thought she saw a tweet from a guy who said something about a Pixel stand ... But this is the first I have seen where it literally shows the phone doing it :P.

Just saying aside from quick updates the Note 9 is looking pretty good...

I've posted this in a few other threads here. If Google allowed their notification bar to be black, they could hide the notch making it look like a bezel. Would that make a difference for anyone?

Could do, but we've seen no evidence that the notification bar can be blacked out.

All the leaked shots show the notch in full view. Google may be going with the approach Apple have gone with no option to hide the notch, which would be very disappointing.

Like I've said elsewhere, it honestly doesn't bother me. Even though I'm not going with the XL since I prefer the smaller model for ease of use, it wouldn't bother me if they went the same route with it.

As for the subject of this thread, I'd actually prefer they not include wireless charging if they end up using glass to cover the whole device to make it happen. I've heard of people with Galaxy devices getting shattered from drops while in a case. In my case, and this is granted a fluke, but I recently dropped my device twice in as many days. Once onto an asphalt parking lot from just above waist height, and the other onto a tile floor from counter height. Neither caused any damage (Spigen Rugged Armor case and TGSP), but I'd rather they not make it easier to damage. If they have to add wireless charging, I'd prefer they go back to plastic (like the Lumia series polycarbonate) or ceramic. We have plenty of experience with what happens when glass coverings are used, almost 8 years worth of experience. Unless the glass is somewhat pliable, it'll crack. But if it's pliable, it'll scratch. At this point there's no getting around that. I'd rather have to plug in a cable than have my device be more fragile.
