Wireless Charging issue?

well time to eat some crow mine is doing the same thing, starts to charge even laying on its side then starts to blink blue and pauses

Yes i learned this when i got mine a while back. I was wondering why it wouldnt charge with the case on, then i realized i wasnt using the oem cable and charging brick. once i fixed that i was gravy.
Mine are a good aftermarket brand. Have worked on my previous phones fine. Only the note 8 has an issue with it. I tried without the case too.

thank you! I was waiting to hear about the TYLT. still using mine. it worked for my N3, N4, & N7. any placement issues? also, are you using a case and which one? thanks.

Yup, got a Spigen Neo Hybrid case. Just place it on the charger and Bam!! Like I said before, my Note 8 is still a virgin! Lol!!!

Ill take the setup home with me tonight so I can try different chargers and cables to see if any help. This is my work setup so I can grab and go.

Interesting, When I got back from lunch, I sat my Note 8 on it wrong but it’s working. It’s hanging pretty far off the edge. Not even close to being centered. :/

Is it more towards the bottom of the device? I wonder if that's where the wireless charging sensor is placed. I have the standing wireless charger from Samsung, and I stood mine up to charge yesterday and it was fine.

I have a OtterBox Case on mine and it came up with a blinking light so I turned it on it's side to charge and it worked just fine.

I used to have the same issue with my Note 5 with a thick Unicorn Beetle Pro case and had to do the same thing - it worked fine on it's side also!!!

I accidentally started a new thread on the same topic (sorry!)

I have the same issue. First night charged mine wirelessly with the flat Samsung charger. Next day, nothing on any of my chargers (Samsung or not). Annoying if I'll be forced to buy the new (and expensive) Samsung charger. Guess I'll head to best buy later to see if that one works.

Hopefully this isn't a hardware defect...

I'm using my Samsung wireless quick charger that I had for my S7Edge and it has been charging my Note8 just fine with either a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case or VRS Design Crystal Bumper Case on it.

The car charger is a different story. I tried using the Samsung car charger that I used for the S7Edge with a Samsung USB-C adapter. The phone got a message saying that the charger was not working properly and to check the plug (which was fine). I ordered from Best Buy @25% off a new Samsung Dual-Port vehicle charger with the USB to USB-C and USB to Micro USB cables for $29.99 along with a Samsung Micro USB to USB-C adapter and a longer cabled USB-A to USB-C. I also bought a new Samsung 128GB EVO Plus microSDXC UHS-I Card for $49.99 that came with an email download link for $20.00 towards photo processing or photo book from ShutterFly.

I chose the Samsung Gear 360 camera for my pre-order promotion which FedEx confirmed will be here next week. I'll send back my paid for Verizon S7Edge and get my $480 credit towards my Note 8.
I'm glad I waited for the awesome Note 8 and this great deal!!

I didn't make it to best buy yet. But last night when I put my phone on the flat Samsung charger, it showed that it was fast charging...but didn't charge, it just drained as normal. This morning, nothing again when I tried. Very weird.

I've tried a few different plugs & cables without success. Guess I'll head to best buy today and try the new style Samsung charger. If that doesn't work, have to exchange my phone I guess . If it does work, I guess I have to buy a $75 charger.

I don't have have any issue at at all with wireless charging. Same Samsung wireless charger I bought for my Note 7 originally that worked for my S7E all this time and works fine for the Note 8. If it is that one, it certainly should work fine.

Oh well...new Samsung charger didn't work with my phone either. Verizon sending a new phone. Annoying, but 1st world problems I guess lol.

Apple would tell you that you're putting phone on wireless charger wrong lmao. *ready to get slaughtered by the iPhone lovers lurking around*

The only problem I've had with wireless charging (using the Samsung Wireless Charging Convertible) is that it is painfully slow...at least coming from the Moto Z Force and Pixel XL. It is almost not worth using.
