Wireless Charging Orb

hey guys, just got my orb today and after reading about it on this site it I haven't noticed anyone mentioning that the table top surface of the orb does not have any stickiness to it like all the touchstones I used with the palm phones. When I pull the phone off the orb the orb comes off the table. Surely I am missing something here... can't believe something that cost $70 to get here won't stay attached to the surface it sits on. I put a couple of piece of a sticky pad like some people use to hold their phone in a vehicle which works ok but is there a better way? I kinda felt like I should not have to rig it. I look for something to peel off the bottom but nothing there...what am I missing? thanks

We weren't talking about the surface that keeps it from rolling around, we were taking about the part that holds the phone.

Make sure its squeaky clean. My Nexus kept sliding off but, so slowly it was hard to notice. In the manual it states that if it is not clean the phone will not stick.

Edit:Sorry just realized you were referring to the underside of the charger. When i remove it i usually just "peel" it from left to right. Hope that helps.

Mine is attached to my desk using good ol' fashioned gravity bolts. But... I usually pick it up off the orb by pressing down/backwards near the ear-piece. This "breaks the seal" the phone has with the tacky part of the charger. Lifts right off, orb stays put.

yep, I gotcha there. As Nizael and The Architect stated I was referring to the orb contact with the table top. The touchstone really made it easy, but..... I will try the techniques you both described and see if it works for me. If not the sticky pad is definitely making it easier to 'grab and go' without the orb moving off the table top.

Guys, if you're using anything but the included USB cord and AC adapter expect problems!

Is this really the case? I am using the included AC charger, but I have a stand-up desk and the included USB cable isn't long enough :( WTF difference does it make what cable you're using - a USB cable is a USB cable, no?

As for me, I think I'm having a combination of many of the issues listed here. It seems to be a crapshoot whether mine will charge or not. And if battery percentage is in the high 90's, I can't seem to make it start charging at all. Other times, I have to turn the phone on and then back off before it'll connect.

The cable itself shouldn't be an issue, but not all USB cables are made the same. I've had connectivity issues with some that are too long for certain devices. You have to assume some sort of power degradation with more length.

It says that about every device.

It CLEARLY states that the Orb is to ONLY be used with the included USB cord and AC adapter! Otherwise it may not charge properly, DUH!!, or even cause damage to the phone and/or the charger!
