Wireless charging stand

Well if it's advertised as fast charging I would expect it to be close to what you'd get from charging with the cord. If you are plugging it in to get a fast charge then what is the point of having the stand?

The point for me is that it gives me wireless charging at a convenient angle that's faster than the normal wireless chargers. Since I'm at my desk most of the time, I don't need the ultimate quick charge speed. I rarely need to unplug from the wireless stand and plug directly into the device for a quick(er) charge. As others have stated, the specifications do state that wireless quick charging is not as fast as direct quick charging. It's not a defect...it's the inherent limitations of wireless charging.

Yours or others' needs may be different than mine.

Hi all. Don't know if this thread is still active but I just stumbled upon it now. I bought the wirelles charging stand few days ago and really love it but since its so easy to put and take my phone on it I want to do it all the time when I'm not using it because it just seems like the best place to put my phone. So my question is will this be bad for battery in the long run or is it safe?

Ok bag of leaves. I'll do that and update when I get an answer.

Bruins11, did you ever test your wireless charger or send it to Samsung? I finally got to test mine with a family member's new Note 5 ... and it charged fast. Which is actually not good news, as that means the problem is with my S7 Edge instead of the wireless charger. :(

Samsung's solution is for me to send them my phone to check out and repair, which includes them doing a hard reset on my phone. No way, it is not worth the pain of setting up my phone all over again just for the wireless charging to be faster! It took days to set up and I am still fiddling with it.

Groupon has the fast wireless stand for like 45 or 55 bucks I think. I have the regular flat one in white and I mostly use it over night when I go to bed so i don't have to plug in and unplug all the time. I want another one and would like to try the stand one.

The Note 5 has a 3000mah battery. The S7 Edge has a 3600mah battery. I think it's only natural that the Note 5 will charge faster.

LOL, I didn't just go by time, but calculated per minute and all. But, the main point is, it didn't take four hours, but the usual amount of time for that phone (I think it was just over two hours? I don't recall). My phone takes over four hours, which is not what it is supposed to take.

The usual over cable, with no battery saving done, connected to mobile internet, Facebook, Twitter, and Email syncing in background, Tasker polling for events, etc, 2hrs from close to zero. Fast charge would probably take about 1hr 30min (the fast part only comes with the first 50% or so anyway). A normal fast wireless charger would be slower than normal charging, and non fast wireless slower still.

Yes, I know all about it.

Bought mine from the $75 gift card I got for buying the S7 edge. Had best buy price match with Amazon pricing and got it for $41. Loving it so far, looks great and works great.

Just bought mine from Samsung for $34.75, tax and shipping included!! Got a promo code for 30% off for registering my phone with Samsung and extra $20 off for using Samsung pay so how could I resist at that price. Can't wait to get it. Also highly recommend Samsung pay!

I want another fast wireless charger preferably a stand one. I have $10 Amazon gift card after reading some reviews and doing some research it said out phone supports 15W charging but most chargers are only 10W. I found one Incipio ghost something or other but it's not a stand one. Some reviews say the Samasung one is 15 and some say 10. I don't really want the Samsung stand one it's higher than the 25 -30 dollar ones I've been looking at on Amazon. Just curious if anyone uses other stand one besides the Samsung one and what other good non stand one do you use? I want to keep one on my desk here preferably the stand one and a regular one for work.
