Wireless Dex to Win 10?

Hi!

I haven't been able to get the phone and my computer to see each other yet - yes they're on the same network, and I added the connect and wireless monitor apps. I'm guessing there's a system setting I've missed somewhere, but can't find it. Anybody?

Have you installed the Wireless Display option for Windows 10? Although this video is older, it might help you figure it out.

Hi - Yes, wireless display and connect installed, "project to this computer" selected, rebooted and the phone still can't see the computer. Yes they're on the same wifi network. Message is always "No compatible PC found" as it searches. There's obviously a setting missing, I just can't figure out what it is....

Hi there. Are you trying to connect through Dex or through the Your Phone app? I haven’t used wireless Dex with a PC only with a cable. I have used it with a TV on the same network.

Is your computer older or on an older version of Windows 10? Have you checked for PC updates just in case?

I really wish I could help further. I have never encountered this issue.

Have you tried to connect via cable to see if it works at all? It may be worth trying that to rule out compatibility issues.

Yep, it works with a cable.

Windows is up to date and Lenovo computer is only a year old.

It's so weird! I'll keep sniffing around.....

There is an app called your phone which helps you connect to a PC with a Samsung phone.
There is also an app in the play store.

Found the My phone/Link to windows feature, and that works perfectly. Dex, only wired. If I ever figure out why, I'll post back!

Yes. I had seen that and installed those suggestions before I posted here for help, in fact (I try to do my research first lol)

Pull down from the top and then scroll over to Dex and click on it. It should find your computer and then click on your computer in the Dex popup on your phone . A pop up with come up on your computer click yes and it should work . I don't use it often but I was actually playing around with it today.

So remember how I couldn't find any particular reason it wouldn't work, and just kind of gave up?

It randomly started working a couple of weeks ago lol. Same phone, same laptop. Bottom line, I have no IDEA why it suddenly started to work - it wasn't after an update or any change from me - but it does. There's some things we'll just never know..... :-D
