Last Friday June 4 2010 after a long and exciting wait the Sprint HTC EVO 4G arrived in stores. There was quite a demand for this phone with the host of features on board.Personally being a customer with Sprint for the last 9 years it was good to see them get some good PR for once.
No exact hard numbers have been released on amount of phones that where sold on opening weekend at some point it will come out and be released. Most people choose a cell carrier for there needs for any numbers of reasons cost, best buy, best customer service.discounts connected to the service.Lots of people what to have the latest and greatest sparkly toy,and quiet a few seem to forgot this is new technology, ground breaking subject to speedbumps, hickups and few problems.I have a question for all what cell phone or tech toy that you have worked flawless right out of the box? Android is a new platform and people are learning and growing each day writing better apps for the phones.Just give it some time and fair amount of patience and it will pay off in the end and its not about the what have you done for me lately either.
Ask your self this question roll back the clock to 2005, and think what it was like then for you vs now!

I think my Treo 600 worked flawlessly out of the box. Of course, it didn't do nearly as much as an EVO, but what it did worked. Same for the Treo 650 I later upgraded to.

Nonetheless, you do raise a valid point. To some extent, bugs are inevitible in a new technology product. The question is how many bugs do we put up with. The Pre, as one example, had too many when released. It was not ready for primetime. I'd say the same about some earlier releases of Android. 2.1 seems pretty solid, though. Not perfect, but not terrible, either.
