I know there is a thread about using the Wireless tether, but not one for troubleshooting. The computer recognizes my phone as Android Connection. It tries to connect, but gets stuck on connecting and never actually does. Is this a problem with my App or with my computer?

Sony VAIO 64bit Windows Vista

Have you been able to successfully connect any other devices with Wireless Tether? If you have access to even another phone with WiFi give it a try. Then maybe we can narrow it down to the Computer or the App.

Im having this same exact problem. i rooted with unrevoked primarily to use the "wireless tether for rooted phones" app and it just wont connect to my dell xps. tried on a mini acer notebook too without success. Amy Ideas?
Im using an evo4g by the way.

did you install the wireless tether from Market?

b/c that one doesn't seem to work..
you need to get a prerelease one.. this one works fine..

wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre9.apk - android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users 2.0.5-pre9 *** EXPERIMENTAL *** - Project Hosting on Google Code

Good News! It worked! Wonder why they dont toss the market app and replace with this update. It worked on my evo like a charm. Thanx!

If Wireless Tether doesnt work for you guys you can also try Barnacle Wifi Legacy, it works fine for me.
