Wireless Tether Issues

I was bored last nite and decided to root my phone. Everything went flawlessly and I have been having fun with it. My only issue is using wireless tether. It installed fine and I can connect to the phone but it only offers a machine to machine connection. I cant seem to get out to the net from my laptop. Is there a setting I need to change or am I just stupid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Follow these steps

use this file

fw_bcm4329.bin

Works great for me.. let me know if you get it working!

make sure you copied android.tether folder over to your SD card. Also check the access control option to make sure you approved access.

I have the same issue I have downloaded the file and made the folder android.tether installed the apk through astro and get a "Binary file succesfully installed" notice but still cannot tether....

I installed the program from the Market and then created the folder and placed the file in it. After that it has been working perfectly.

I only tried mine once, my dads laptop saw it but would not connect...I did not try to play with it too much...Any idea why?

Sounds like you are missing the android.tether folder along with the file that should be contained within. That is exactly what mine did until I added it. Just follow the directions supplied in the link posted above.

Well...Now I actually am putting effort into it, I downloaded the file, put it in a folder. My mac says its connected to my android tether but no dice...hmmm

Nevermind I didn't have.access control enabled.now.it works.perfect!

No dice w/ SR RC2
I keep getting an error starting access point.
Any ideas?
I am using the pre 7 version and have android.tether on the root of th e card with the appropriate file in place.
