With Evo being $200...

So bestbuy has it for $200 out the door. nice deal but i held the hd2 way too big for me. too bad theres not like a 3.2-3.5" screen phone with snapdragon in it. Anyway i am looking at a hero only because the moment has no bigger battery available for it. im coming from a pixi (which i love and webos imo is awesome) but its screen is too small. thus the reason for hero.

my question was will disabling sense ui bring a performance increase? or should eye candy stay since theres no difference.

evo is just too big for my pockets my buddie's hero fits fine

You won't be able to truly disable sense. Having said that, its not a big performance buster anyway (despite what people might said, I'd take a stab at the real performance is in the JIT enabling and memory settings).

darch over @ xda is working on an aosp rom, he'll have it 100% once toast releases his kernal. i was running it, but i missed the camera too much

roms will drastically change once we get that damn kernal source
