With Foxfi not working as wifi, how do you turn on metering for Windows 10 if using Foxfi with USB?

Now that foxfi won't work as a wifi hotspot, I connect my s6 to my laptop by USB. BUT, now I can't meter my windows update and it's sucking up all my data. I know how to meter when using wifi but can't find an option this way as it's considered ethernet. Any ideas? So sick of giving these companies a ton of money and can't use anything without paying more. I'm all for fairness but geez...... Thanks for any help if you have it!
