With lower res screen will apps work OK

I have been using a D2 and DX and was wondering will all of my apps work with the lower res screen. Since my apps for the other phones were designed to be very high res, will the Pro just dumb it down for its resolution and work fine?

Most well-written apps work fine with multiple screen resolutions, but poorly written apps that require specific screen geometries may not work well.

Shouldn't be a problem, it's the exact same display as the Cliq XT / Quench, except the text is a bit jagged compared to the higher end phones. The biggest problem is OS upgrade, with Gingerbread around the corner, this phone is highly unlikely to get it because of the low res display.

I haven't seen anything that indicates Gingerbread will require higher resolutions. I see recommended (not required) values for 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 3.5" screen and *support* for higher resolutions, but I think any guesses as to whether a phone that isn't released will support an OS that isn't released is jumping the gun a bit. I always assume my phone will be EOLed the day I buy it unless an OS upgrade is explicitly promised, that way I'm never disappointed.

Has there been an update to this Thread? Do we know if the Pro's screen size and/or resolution will prevent 2.3 and other future OS updates?
