Yea, what is this? I don't want Nokia to be responsible for future updates on my X or anything. I am really curious to see what this means for Droid owners, because this is a little worrying in terms of what we can expect from the manufacturer down the road.
story I read said they were selling off a $1.2 billion mobile technology division...they have a market cap of $17 bil, so I doubt this was a large part of the company
The linked article says that the phone division was split from the wireless networking business earlier in the year, and it's the latter than was sold to Nokia. So this won't impact us at all.
Yea they are selling the networking business. That's like towers and such. They are retaining iden tech (nextel bleeping tech). Part of the reason they are selling is to increase their cash so they can support their mobile handset business.
Yea I didn't really think it'd be effecting us. No way moto would sell off its handset stuff right after it launches the X and is about to launch the Droid 2
