With new update, cannot send text through Google assistant

Anyone else having this issue after the P yesterday today? When I say "send text to...." it says "unfortunately this is not available on your device".

Kinda sucks, as it's my prime way of sending texts

Maybe Google Assistant is having issues in general. Mine stopped working yesterday randomly and I've seen others reporting similar.

Google Assistant is working just fine here. Experiencing no issues with sending texts via the Assistant.

I've been having issues across multiple DPs and now Pie where Google assistant keeps changing the voice i set it to. for some reason it keeps switching back to the default female voice in the middle of me texting or having it read texts to me.

I had this issue as well, but seems to have resolved itself for me. I'm on a pixel 2 xl, Official OTA Android P and Project Fi.
