Alright so basically I love my og evo but I'm looking for a new phone. Don't care for the gs3. Love the evo. In my area 4g wimax has been so I'm not exactly used to it anyways but is this phone without LTE a drag or us it still as amazing as I've heard?

Are the Sprint 3G speeds acceptable to you in your area? The EVO LTE is Sprints best LTE phone at the moment, if you can find a defective-free one. Amazing display and very quick.

I had trouble.

3g is not to bad around here. I spend most of the day either at my house on wifi or at work on 3g.

Get it! I do agree w/dreamliner though, if you get a defective free EVO LTE, you should be fine. I'm on my 2nd unit, as the first had a bad prox/light sensor. My 3G speeds are good, and LTE is just the icing on the cake for me (and will be for you too when and if you get it). I'm in ATL and just ran these Speed Tests tonight on Sprint's LTE:

Alrighty well it looks like I have a bit of saving to do and then I'm going to buy outright the LTE

I hadn't the evo /evo 3d and never had wimax service but always hadn't great 3g service. Now I have the lte version with no lte. I am still very happy. This phone is fast and has good battery life. As far as 4g goes you can't miss what you never had, but still have something great to look forward to.

That was another question I had. I have an OG with a 3500 battery. Last's through a whole day when I decide to play with it all the time or 2 days+ if I just text on occasion. How is this batter being non removable as it is going to fare me?

All I know is I can stream sirius radio for over 8 hours straight and still have 25 percent left,, that's outstanding. The regular size extended battery in my evo 3d could only do just over 4 hours streaming non stop. Without streaming at all I go all day with much use and can't kill my battery by the time I go to bed. It has exceeded my hopes big time.

So essentially Sprint's best LTE phone is the S3, until HTC takes care of that nasty multitasking bug. Once they take care of that then we'll revisit the rankings.

Honestly I don't think the multitasking thing is going to bug me that much. I haven't gotten either phone physically in my hands yet but just at a glance I prefer htc

signal strength sucks for this phone the phone i love but it has alot of errors even after the ota i ended up rooting my phone and then it was bug free and had no issues except for the bad 3g service and i had the evo 3d before then and service was still bad but no where as bad as this and on the 3d in certain areas i could switch to 4g and be all set, im curious will LTE kill the battery like 4g did

So far I am having much better signal strength with this evo then my previous ones (original /3D).

I've always found the 3g speeds to be pretty fast and its the same with the evo. Pretty snappy on browsing and streaming. I've yet to use 4g at all. But can I ask why you're not interested in the s3. Both are solid phones but I find myself wanting the s3 instead. There are certain things better on the s2 in comparison that I find myself missing. Also I knew the EVO didn't present dark colors well but I wasn't expecting it to be as noticeable as oit is. The phone shines in certain areas, but I'd recommend shopping around a bit first.

Well I'm definitely planning on picking up both and playing around with them at least in the store do I can feel them in my hands. One thing about the s3 was I've never had a Samsung with good signal ever. Always had crappy radio problems or other miscellaneous things. I still have yet to even lay eyes on either screen because I just haven't had the time to go to the sprint store.

I switched from the EVO 3D to the EVO LTE about 8 days ago and I love it..I got the White Edition. So far just in the 3G speeds I noticed a diff . The LTE on 3g downloads faster.. the battery life is real good and I stream music over WiFi for 8 hrs straight and still got like 30% left.I've read that there is some issues/bugs that some have mentioned with the LTE but I have not noticed any so I guess I got a good ELTE .not clear what the multitasking bug is but I'm happy with it works great for me..And I love the bigger screen too. I miss that when I went from the OG EVO to the EVO 3D. The only issue or problem that I had was trying to figure out where the Ext.Sd card went n at. I didn't know it had a removable upper half..lol.. but I unlocked and rooted yesterday with no problem at all .so good luck on which device u choose you'll be happy Homie.

Seems like most people get decent life out of this phone. That was my main concern mostly because there's no extended option with a non removable battery. LTE is what it is and I'll either get it or never know exactly what I'm missing so either way that's fine. Is sprint still the only place to get the white one?
