Woke up to over 50 notifications from Chrome

All sorts of junk spam nonsense. Separate notifications for each one that beep and show up under notifications. I cleared them all, installed the new security patch that just came out and rebooted the phone. I've had 3 more chrome notifications since then.

How did this start, and how do I stop it?

Notifications from Chrome Browser? Incomplete downloads?

It's nothing to do with downloads. This is all sorts of junk spam like you'd see in your spam email folder.

I went in and disabled notifications for Chrome, and it has stopped, but now I'm wondering what legitimate Chrome notifications I might miss down the road? Also, it makes me wonder what all is going on behind the scenes that's potentially using resources within Chrome, but now I'm just not notified about it?

Erm... I have never gotten even 1 notification from Chrome Browser... Excluding Incomplete Downloads....

You can select which sites to get notifications from in Chrome's settings (and you might be able to determine which site was giving you those spam notifications). Open Chrome, tap Menu>Settings>Site Settings>Notifications and see what's listed under Allowed.

Prior to today, I could claim the same thing...
