So from what I am seeing on youtube and other places it doesnt look like the mytouch 4g gingerbread update that t-mobile is pushing out has the gingerbread lock screen that we have seen on other devices. The one where you drag the wring into the center of the screen to unlock. BUT it looks like the mytouch slide will? Wondering if the OS is interchangeable between the devices. Im pretty sure it is not but part of the flare of gingerbread are the UI differences and I cant help but feel ripped off a little?

Your thoughts?

That lockscreen isn't from Gingerbread. It's part of Sense 3.0 which is what the Sensation, Evo 3D, and Mytouch 4g slide all have.

Our current mytouches still have sense 2.1. And if you are unfamiliar with Sense, it's the UI framework on most HTC Android devices, like how Samsung phones have Touchwiz, and Motorola has Motoblur.

gotcha! thank you for clearing that up. Would you know why we are not getting the new Sense UI?

That's up to HTC and Tmobile to decide. Looks like they're not bringing it to any of their older phones, only new dual core phones.

That is exactly what I heard from our HTC rep, that they would only be bringing Sense 3.0 to dual core phones.

Oh well, I was bored of Sense anyway.

I finally figured out how to root my phone, and I installed the MIUI rom and it is SLICK. I love it.

I am fairly certain that certain ROM's such as Virtuous Unity have Sense 3.0 if you wanna try that out. I'm considering giving it a try and also considering giving MIUI a try. I am finding it so hard to leave RoyalGinger at the moment though. A 4055 on Quadrant? For real?! Haha, by the way I just upgraded from the LG Optimus T. And this phone is lightyears beyond it! :D
