Won't charge past 50%

I have a photon that won't charge past 50%, ran cadex tester and the battery tested good. I'm currently in the process of letting another battery charge up to see if it stops at the 50% point as well. I'd like to avoid hard resetting the device if possible. Has anyone else seen this problem? A Google search didn't turn up any good results. Thanks.

I don't know about your "Cadex Tester", but it sounds like the battery is on its way out, the cells degenerate, especially around a year plus old, so it will not hold that much of a charge & discharge faster (normal).

I assume you checked for bulges & leaks

and tried a different charger, a battery only charger & other USB cables

The Micro-USB port on the phone is known to have issues as well but easy to replace

FYI: I am on my 3rd OEM stock Photon battery, the others would slowly hold less & less of a charge due to the degeneration & heat build up

A Cadex tester tests the Ohms, and Cell health of a battery. Battery tested good, and I replaced with a harvested battery from another photon. Performing a hard reset fixed it temporarily, and the phone immediately showed that it had 80% battery, once phone drained though, and you tried charging it wouldn't go past 50% again, so I replaced the phone. It appears the issue falls to the charging port or some kind of board level issue, since the phone wasn't water damaged as far as I could tell.
