Won't let me write live messages on Facebook messenger

Every time I open my keyboard to write a reply, I click on the button for live messaging and right before I can start to draw it immediately goes away. The only thing I can find on this is that live messaging doesn't work with apps that do no support gifs but I know Facebook messenger does. So why isn't this working?

Any time you have any problem with any Facebook app, the first thing to suspect is the app. Facebook apps aren't very well developed.

I just started having that problem and before it worked fine. Did you figure it out? I've tried everything. It works in other apps but not messenger
