Man, oh man. Sometimes I'm using the tablet. Close the cover. Come back two minutes later, open the cover and press the power and nothing. Hold it down, nothing. Walk away and a few minutes later it may start or reboot!

Makes me sick. No way I'm replacing it with the exact same thing. It has to be faster or newer or it's not getting replaced.

Darn It!

I've removed the metal / magnetic clips from the cover. Cut it open with a blade and taped it back up. So far, so good. When I manually turn the tablet off and on it seems to be working.

It's dead. Well, not dead. It's on and the screen is almost black but it's running. I can turn it off and on but the screen won't display brightly enough to read.

I'm going Surface Pro from here. Can't do an apple tablet. I'm not going to do any other android tablet if Google doesn't even support one.

So sorry this has been happening to you! Let us know how you like your Surface Pro! I agree - I wouldn't want to go the Apple tablet route, either.

I had the same problem. The tablet was not dead, just the illumination was not there, Luckily, the tablet was covered under warranty and Google is replacing it. This will be my third Pixel C tablet and I am reluctantly thinking about selling it once I received the replacement. I have lost faith in the model.

I had the same problem with my first Pixel C. It was out of warranty so I decided to try and move on to a Galaxy Tab S3. I lasted only 3 months with it and got rid of it.
Bought another Pixel C as the price drop was well worth it.
Let's hope this one lasts at least a couple of years.

I bought my Pixel C at the end of March 2016 and it's been fine - still working very well.

(I realise this is no comfort to people with malfunctioning Cs.)
