wood Moto X vs fire

I don't know of any phone that will do well near fire. And you used sand paper on the back of a phone what did you think would happen?

You completely missed the point of the post.

The sand paper is to show how well it can clear away the burned plastic.

Also you aren't aware of Kevlar Motorola Droid phones.

Just curious what grit the sandpaper was. If you went up to 3000 grit and higher, you might not see any evidence of it. Sandpaper in that range feels like paper to the touch, but it still works. I would however stay away from wet sanding given that the material underneath is wood. Just something to think about.

Apparently we all missed the point of the post. You're really just making reference to how well your phone stood up to fire. I'd say it looks just as bad in both pics because the clearcoat is gone. So it stood up terribly to fire.

And Kevlar is not Nomex. Nomex is fire resistant. Kevlar is abrasive and puncture resistant. When molded into plastic, the plastic becomes stronger but it will still melt around fire. Hell, if there was Nomex in your phone, the plastic would still melt, but the electronics behind the Nomex *might* be ok.
