Word correction and cursor appear underneath my keyboard

I have been scouring the internet trying to find solutions, and even other people with the same problem. I've had very little success. I would even say none. There's no other way to explain it other than, when I misspell a word and tap on it to correct it, the drop drown menu hides behind my keyboard. Same thing with the cursor if it's close enough. I have no idea why this happens and I'm really tired of dealing with it. I don't want to reset my phone. That's just a dumb solution, and who knows if it'll even fix it. Help please!
