Worried about virus threat?

So yesterday I used FoxFi to create a mobile hotspot for my laptop and while doing so, I managed to contract a virus on my laptop. It wasn't anything too bad, and I got rid of it. Should I be worried about my phone's security now too, since it was acting as the wifi hotspot for my laptop? I have Lookout installed.

Shouldn't be a problem. I assume your computer is windows and android is linux based. Two different operating systems. Usually viruses are only coded for one system.

Unless someone coded a virus to open a backdoor downloaded trojan on the Android device when tethering was used and that to download a data miner on the Windows platform.
