Worth $289.99? Good voice recongition? Music player questions.

Hey every one,

I currently own a LG Voyager Titanium and use it pretty much all day. (I like my phone :))

Never owned a "smart phone" before and I'm very interested in getting the Droid Incredible.

I'm not eligible for a phone upgrade until June 19 2010. But I was told that for $20 dollars I can purchase my phone early.

I'm also interested in extending my contact for just 1 year but I can't do so until May 19, 2010 at the earliest.

$269.99 1 yr contact
$20 fee for early phone.
= $289.99

I love doing voice dialing and listening to my music through my blue tooth head phones.
I assume this is all possible with the incredible?

I heard voice dialing doesn't work through blue tooth?

How good is the voice recognition for calling people?

Any one know how long you can listen to music via stereo bluetooth before the phone dies?
I assume the newer phones have the ability to use the music player in the back ground? For example I could listen to music and browse the web at the same time.

How well does the music player work for podcasts?
For example can android play a track that is over 120 minutes long? Is there even a cap? Does it glitch out after so many minutes?

Does the market place offer other music players?

Is it possible to download themes/skins from the marketplace?

Thanks guys/gals!

Again I'm completely new to the smart phone scene. If you have any tips on a first time android user, please feel free to share!

1. Yes you can listen to music through bluetooth headphones.
2. Voice dialing does not work through bluetooth
3. Voice recognition is good
4. Battery life isn't great on Incredible but there are ways posted on the site to make it better and there is also an extended battery you can buy from the Android Central store. And yes you can play music while doing other things i.e. browsing the internet.
5. Music player works good. I recommend you download a podcatcher from the market. Never played one as long as you requested but I don't forsee a problem.
6. It offers many music players. I have 5 of them.
7. There are different skins for certain music players. None for the stock player.

Hope I helped.

Thank you for answering all my questions I really do appreciate it.

What about themes/skins for the over all device? (software wise)

Thanks,

Bigk

Oh most definitely. That's the main thing with Android is its openess. For now your options may not be that much but once the Incredible gets rooted mores themes via Metamorph and later, Roms will become available.

Music

I love the stock Music Player, I use it every day in the gym for about 1 1/2 hours.

I use the rocketfish bluetooth headset from Bestbuy.

This phone is perfect.

Only YOU can decide if it's worth the cash, but it IS an excellent device. No regrets on my part.

Does the marketing place provide Verizon's VCast Videos? Vcast music? Sound ID? etc.

It has VCast music, no video, and no tag. For music tagging use Shazam. Its the same thing and still free.

I was very happy with my Voyager before I switched to the Incredible (also my first Smartphone). After two weeks of using my Incredible, the Voyager looks and feels absolutely archaic.

I couldn't be happier with my decision! :D
