Looking for a tablet for the kids. I k ow which model I would get with the newest generation allowing SD cards.
I have tons of Kindle books for myself and my oldest child.
For the Samsung tab I am already heavy user of Android with 3 phones and 2 tablets.
Not taking cost into this decision. The Samsung Tab is more expensive and I have no problem with that

Thank you all for your perspective

You're talking about a whole different experience and your decision should be geared towards what you're gonna use it for. They're truly two completely different beasts.

The Kindle works great if you're heavily invested in the Kindle world and you're OK with getting your apps from the Amazon store (many for free with the Underground program. The Kindle doesn't have access to Google Play (which means some apps might have compatibility issues or never make it to the Kindle at all). Yes, you can root and gain access, but that's another story.

The Tab S is a fully fledged Android tablet with access to Google Play services AND Amazon's as well if you enable 'sideloading' in the Settings (pretty easy to do, and you can do on a per-install basis to keep your device secure). It also has better specs for gaming and nifty Samsung features. This also means the OS takes up more of your internal space than on the Fire. But if you don't care for all those features or access to the Play Store, then the Kindle is a very solid option since it's so cheap.
