I see the G7 is super cheap right now. 400 dollars with my carrier. Is it worth upgrading to though from the V30? I'm used to using an OLED screen and the G7 is LCD... like the G6 I used to have. It worth upgrading to though for such a good deal? or is a half a year not enough time between devices?

I'd hold off a little longer and wait for the G8 price to come down. I love my G7, but the larger battery and more ram on the G8 I think would make it a smarter upgrade

i would have to agree, wait to see if the G8 price comes down. I know that when the G8 first came out they were offering some pretty aggressive deals, so it might be worth checking into if those are still active. TMO was doing both a 200 off the top as well as a trade in. not sure about the other carriers though.

Who is your carrier?

$400 doesn't sound cheap.

My wife and son each had G6 from Sprint. I dumped Sprint and upgraded them both to G7 from T-Mobile in November of 2018. I paid $500 for two phones (BOGO sale). I traded both G6 for that.

400 for a flagship level device is definitely cheap. if i recall the phone started at $700, so the price of 400 is almost a 50% off deal.

I guess I was lucky when I got two G7 phones for $250 each in November 2018.

Well, not all of us are lucky enough to get BOGO deals. That doesn't really count because that price is only temporary. 400 dollars is still a good price for a phone with flagship specs. It's difficult now finding a flagship phone that's under 700 in this day and age. And also to find one around 700 that isn't a "budget" phone with reduced screen resolution. My carrier is T-Mobile.

I don't really want the G8. I don't care for the speaker setup on their "full screen" speaker. It sounds like crap quite frankly. If it wasn't for that, I'd be in.

Verizon has the G8 at I really good deal right now. Without the G7 just got updated today with 9.0 pie.

I'd say it's worth it if you think it is. It's an upgrade from the V30, in my opinion. My husband got the G7 ThinQ in September and loves it! It has had great standby time and he's a power user and it gets him through the day. Plus, I think the camera takes decent shots.

But, again, it's up to you and depends on whether or not you'd like the "newest" phone or previous iterations. If you still can't decide, wait a while. Go to a store and hold your top "phone contenders" in your hand and try to think about which one you could see yourself using/picking up/holding for long-term.

Let us know what you decide!

T-Mobile is doing a BOGO price on the G7 priced at $400. When all is said and done that's $200 each for last year's $700+ flagship phone. My wife and I both need new phones so I just made my order. That's a no brainer. We haven't had LG phones for years - my wife had a mid-level LG a few years ago that was a really good phone. Hope we like it! I'm sure it's going to be a massive upgrade from my Blackberry DTEK60 (though I'll miss the crispness of an OLED screen).

Still love mine and I've had it since day 1!
