Worth returning?

Just got my aluminum Nexus 6P 32GB

Everything looks good besides two marks which I oddly can see in my crappy office lights but outside or in brighter lights much harder to see.

The first mark seems like a small dent by the plastic panel? from 1-2 feet (viewing distance) you can kind of tell it's there is you are looking for it.

The second mark seems like a tiny bump or tiny hole. Maybe some extra paint or extra aluminum? I couldn't rub this off. This mark I can't see from viewing distance.

Posted some pictures.

Would you return?

I am leaning towards no since returning is a burden uploadfromtaptalk1452106410577.jpguploadfromtaptalk1452106420864.jpgand when I get home this thing is going in a TPU case anyways. Plus I plan to only keep the phone until next Sept when the iPhone 7 comes out

Probably not worth returning. In a month or 2 the newness will likely be worn off and you will care less. Even more so if you know for sure you are getting a new phone in Sept

lol, That was kind of why I wanted to post a picture that wasn't magnified or the marks circled. If you can't spot it than who cares right? The 1st photo if you open up on the lower left hand side by the plastic panel you see a slight indentation. Photo two if you open up above the visor on the phones upper left hand side (when upright) you see a tiny dot.

To be honest I have seen and heard of people getting much worse with the 6P and also when I had the iPhone 5 that was a [language removed] show, I went through 5 units at their store and all had marks for the black.

Like I said a case is going on right away. I am scared of the chamfered edges which probably scuff super easily.

I still don't see them...haha

yeah...if your screen looks good and you like everything else about it, no way would I risk exchanging it out for that since who knows what other problems you could get back in return.

My first 6P had about 6-8 dings in the chamfered edge which bugged the crap out of me at first (new devices should be in perfect condition!).

I promptly requested a replacement, which came in excellent physical condition. However, the screen was terrible. The left side was far cooler than the right side (progressively got more yellow left to right).

I ended up returning my exchange device and kept my original 6P. Sure, the dings are still a tad annoying to see, but I've learned to just move on and enjoy the device for what it is.

It's your device, so do what you want. I don't really see the issues, but I am not in the room. I would be driven nuts depending on the issue.

My 6P has a tiny imperfection like the one in your first photo but since I have the Graphite it is a bit more noticeable. Still honestly it doesn't even phase me, because otherwise the phone is perfect. At the end of the day, it's not going to effect the eventual resale value, and since the phone is in a case 99% of the time it's not visible, so who cares?

If you are talking about the hole which is centered on the back of the phone, about 3/4" from the top - well, that is a microphone port for the ambient sound sensor. It is used by the phone's in-call background noise elimination system.

It depends on the video. On YouTube, it ranges just because some videos are just crap. But on Netflix, no issues with volume.

Might be worth returning it for that issue.

OCD Much? LMAO!

I'm kidding. :) I wouldn't turn it back in if everything else is fine for the reasons mentioned in other posts and also because it's a PITA

OP, I actually spotted both issues right away before I got to your post describing them and the circled pictures. But having said that, you can get those marks simply from removing a protective case a couple of times from the phone. So just enjoy the device!

The dot in the second pic I can't see that much. The small dent on the first pic I can see and would drive me crazy as well. Especially if I didn't make the dent myself. If you are absolutely 100% sure you didn't make the dent, I would return it but you really run the risk of receiving something worse or possibly better. I say give it 3 days before the return period. That way you had it for awhile and can decide if you want to return it or not.
