Hello,
I wonder does it make a difference if I am home on wifi to switch off mobile data? I am not sure how it works and if the connection needs to be maintained even when wifi is connected? Maybe it will save some battery if I switch off data and switch them back on only when I go out?

I don't. I leave mobile data on while on WiFi, one less thing to think about when leaving the house - keys, wallet, phone, switch on mobile data, lock the door. No thanks. I don't see any mobile data usage while on WiFi, at least nothing of note and I'm on Fi where I pay for the data I use.

I leave mine on , I haven't noticed any drastic battery drain with it on .

I leave mine on and battery life is fine. Or potential down side of disabling mobile data is it means MMS messages (I.e. Being texted a photo) will not work. Some newer protocols are being rolled out for texting over Wi-Fi, but MMS traditionally requires mobile data.

Two problems:

1. Mobile data does cost battery, even if it's not enough to notice.
2. If the app decides to use mobile data instead of WiFi, and either a) your WiFi is faster or b) you don't have unlimited mobile data - it's going to cost you, in speed or in data.
